Replaced the sand in the sand blasting cabinet today. This time I filled it with glass sand, that is small glass pellets. For blasting aluminium, sand would dig pits in the soft metal, glass however is said not to. In the picture you see my brother blowing the last bits of sand out of the [...]

Found this on the internet, that’s where I find most of my information about stuff. You can clean off rust and dirt with electrolysis. And it’s magic, I am testing on some bolts I have had lying around, and so far I’m impressed. The springs that secure the oil gaskets on the front dampers was [...]

I had to improve the paint booth, it was too dark and too cold. The solution was a small lamp at the top, a ceiling and an oven. The oven is old, 13 years actually, and was on its way to recycling anyway. The ceiling does two things, prevent dust from the garage door that [...]

When trying to open the front forks I found that the screw under the axle clamp was just spinning. According to the service manual I had to use a special tool. This booth is just fabric held up by wire and a couple of wood sticks. The booth is collapsible by pushing it towards the wall. I also build it so that I can open the garage door while the booth is up.

Inside the cabinet, the cabinet looks pink because of the dust sticking to the walls. In one corner, it sticks to all the finger marks we made when we had the suction tube in the corner.

Yes, I did buy a cabinet so that I can blow my stuff and not pay others to do it. I hope this helps me save a lot of money. I will sell this when I’m done with the bike.

Bought myself a motorcycle jack, but this jack is more suited for bikes that does not have the exhaust under the engine. I could not use it before I removed the exhaust pipes.
