Mounting the steering column

Due to lack of special tools I had to let a local company press one of the bearings onto the steering column, they charged me more than both steering bearings cost, so I will probably go elsewhere next time I need a small job done. At least they greased the bearing for me, and more. [...]

The steering stem needs to have a bearing pressed on. I thought I was going to be smart and put the stem into the freezer and warmed the bearing itself on the stove. I’ve heard that this would make the bearing expand en the stem shrink enough so I could just slide the bearing onto [...]

Handlebar Padding is bad

This padding is made of plastic. It is kind of like the old Tupperware plastic where the plastic was pealing of in flakes. Will check to see if this can be refurbished. If not, buy a new one.

This plate is mounted on the steering stem and contains info about the bike.

Without the headlamp all the cables are exposed. Luckily all the connectors are different, so I don’t have to take notes of all the connectors. The Service Manual also clearly indicates where the different cables go on the bike when it is time to put it all toghether.
