Airbox finished

The airbox has been put together again. Parts has been cleaned, some polished and some has been painted. Three screws has been replaced with new ones, and the broken rubber air intake has been secured with two chassis screws.

The order from Autosol in Germany finally arrived. It consists of aluminium cleaner, aluminium protective oil and aluminium polish. I will use the polish during restoration and the rest is for after I’m finished, to protect my investment.

Today I started polishing the front forks and as you can see, they are getting much shinier.

The final drive gear is cleaned and polished, there is a lot of nicks and scratches in the surface. But since I did not take this apart, I will leave it like this for now.

The bolts that hold the bottom cups of the front forks was good, so I polished them. The discs will be changed, because I always change locking discs or damaged discs.

Polishing is hard work! I am using a combination of finger power and a battery drill with a hard polishing disc. Earlier today I bought a pack of 8 kitchen scrubbing pads, the ones with a hard and a soft side. I’ve already worn out three of them. Click on the picture to see it [...]
