The back side of the helmet lock was very dirty and the release bars had to be wiggled to actually release. Good thing I opened the lock because this was a lot of dirt. Will wash it, regrease it and put it back together.

Look closely to the left of the hole for the glide bolt, there is a tiny shim hidden in the dirt. It was only luck that let me find these, guess I don’t check the service manual enough.
